Prof Dr. Muhammad Akram Hossain, who goes by Zahida Siddiqi (pronounced “Zah-HEE-duh Sihd-DEE-key”) has been practicing since 1997, with a focus on general Internal Medicine and a specific interest in teaching. Dr. Siddiqi completed her undergraduate study at the Government College for Women in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, and attended medical school at Allama Iqbal Medical College in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan, where she received an MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery). She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County in Chicago. Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), Zahida belongs to the Association of Physicians of Pakistani Descent of North America (APPNA) and serves on the board of United APNA, a watchdog association for APPNA. Away from work, Zahida enjoys travel and reading. She is fluent in Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu.
